At Calculator Your Age, your privacy is our priority. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We keep things simple and transparent — no legal jargon.
Age Calculator — 100% Client-Side
All age and age-difference calculations are performed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your date of birth, calculation results, and any other personal information you enter are never transmitted to, processed by, or stored on any server. Nothing you type into the calculator leaves your device.
This means: no accounts, no databases, no server logs containing your personal data. You can verify this by opening your browser's Developer Tools (Network tab) — you will see no data being sent during calculation.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-7ZQHVX57GE) to understand how visitors use our site — which pages are popular, which languages are used, and whether people find the tool helpful. This helps us improve the calculator.
What GA4 Collects
- Page views — which URLs are visited
- Session data — time on site, pages per session
- Device info — browser type, screen size, operating system
- Geo-location — country/city level (derived from anonymized IP)
- Language preference — based on browser settings
- Referral source — how you found our site (search, social, direct)
What GA4 Does NOT Collect
- Your name, email, or any personal identity
- Your date of birth or age calculation data
- Your IP address (GA4 anonymizes IPs by default)
- Any data entered into the calculator form
How GA4 Uses Cookies
GA4 sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish unique users and track sessions. These cookies:
- Expire after 2 years (
_ga) - Do not contain personal information
- Are used solely for aggregate analytics
- Are never shared with third parties beyond Google's analytics service
Language Preference (localStorage)
When you switch languages using the language selector, we save your preference in your browser's localStorage (key: preferred_locale). This is a simple text string like "zh" or "en". It never leaves your device, is not accessible by other websites, and contains no personal information. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any user data with third parties. The only third-party service we use is Google Analytics, which processes anonymized traffic data under Google's Data Processing Amendment (DPA) and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Children's Privacy (COPPA)
This site does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The age calculator is a general-audience tool that performs calculations locally in the browser without data collection.
Hosting & Infrastructure
This site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect anonymous server logs (HTTP requests) for operational purposes. These logs do not include form data (since calculations are client-side). See Vercel's Privacy Policy for details.

We may update this policy if our data practices change. The latest version will always be available at this URL. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes.
